Record Figures for Motorhome Registrations
Good news for everyone looking to buy a campsite. For the first time, the number of registered motorhomes exceeded one million vehicles. This means the number of motorhomes has more than doubled since 2017. This proves that buying a campsite will be a good investment in the long term.
Price Analysis by Pincamp
According to a price analysis by Pincamp, Germany is one of the cheapest travel destinations for camping holidays in 2025, costing €50 per night in the high season. Croatia is the most expensive at €68 per night. Sweden is the cheapest at €43 per night. For German campsite operators, this means that there is still significant room for price increases compared to international standards, thus further improving the profitability of a campsite.
Record Figures for Overnight Stays
Campsites in Germany recorded more overnight stays last year than ever before. At nearly 42.9 million overnight stays, this is a new record, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office. This means there were 1.4 percent more overnight stays on campsites here than in 2023 (42.3 million) and almost a fifth (19.9 percent) more than in the pre-Corona year 2019.
These figures are music to the ears of investors looking to buy a campsite. It can be assumed that visitor numbers and overnight prices will continue to rise in the coming years.
